Child of God by Lolita Files

Rating:    PENS!!!!

Drama, Drama, and more Drama!

'Child of God' is not a novel that you see every day. This is the most complex and compelling book I have ever read. Lolita Files introduces us to three generations of the Boten family.

Because of the complexity of this story, it is difficult to give a synopsis. This is like a modern day Hamlet. The issues addressed in the book are incest, homosexuality, suicide, drug addiction, voodoo and more! The Boten family is considered to be the "crazy family" and torment follows this family from Tennessee all the way to Detroit. The stories of Grace, Walter, Sukie, Ophelia, Polo, Coolie, and Lay, will keep you engrossed and turning the pages.

'Child of God' is nothing like her previous works. Lolita Files really shows her talent for the written word with this book. With so many main characters and their lives intertwining the way they do, Lolita did an amazing job with this one. I hope to see more of her talent come through like this in the future.
